After I got my eyes to focus, yup, she’s right. And a pretty bad one. She had a tissue up to her nose and had her head tipped back. I grabbed a handful of tissue and told her put her head down a little and to blow, hard. She didn’t want to… it seemed gross to her.
“Yes, it is gross, but you’ve got to clean out your nose and then we’ll try to stop the bleeding,” I told her as I filled a baggy with ice cubes. “Go ahead, blow.”
She wasn’t happy about it, but she did it, soaking the tissue. I handed her another handful of tissue and the ice bag. We sat there for 20 minutes until it looked like the bleeding stopped. I put her back to bed and went to bed myself.
She was back at my bedside at 5:15, the bloody nose having returned. We repeated the process and she was back in bed at 5:35, but I was awake and would not be able to get back to sleep. So I got dressed and stared on some work (I know, it’s a federal holiday, and technically have the day off, but I’ taking the boy camping on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, so I have some work to get done so I can play Davy Crockett with the Cub Scouts.
Anyway, here it is, 11:45 a.m. and I’m dragging… I hoping the caffeine jolt will carry me through the next couple of hours, but I doubt it. I’ve never done the Red Bull or 5-Hour Energy thing… today may be the day to try it.
The girl, by the way, is doing fine and is back to keeping all of her corpuscles on the inside of her body.
