OK, so this is a little late, but I think it’s important to enter into the record.
I remember when the late Leslie Nielsen played the heavy in ’70s TV and movies. His emergence as a comic actor was an unexpected bonus to his career. “Airplane” is still funny 30 years later. I watched it with my kids recently, and while they didn’t get any of the references—think Ethel Merman, disaster movies and “Saturday Night Fever”—they laughed at the absurdity of the jokes and sight gags.
I have heard, though, that this clip may have surely been the one that Nielsen enjoyed the most:
