How can it be that I have lived some 40-plus-odd years, and having half of my family tree go back to a little Sicilian fishing village, that I had never, ever eaten baked ziti. In fact, I had never even heard of the dish until it made weekly cameo appearances on HBO’s “The Sopranos.” Ravioli? Sure. My grandmother made her own, just as she made manicotti and stuffed shells, several different pasta sauces and pestos. But baked ziti? Nope.
