The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how The Red Clay Report did in 2010. Here’s their high-level summary of the RCR’s overall blog health:
A Boeing 747-400 passenger jet can hold 416 passengers. This blog was viewed about 6,200 times in 2010. That’s about 15 full 747s.
In 2010, there were 250 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 347 posts. There were 262 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 36mb. That’s about 5 pictures per week.
The busiest day of the year was March 9 with 90 views. The most popular post that day was Godzilla: The Existential Thinker, about the sublime art of Godzilla-themed Haiku.
So, where did all you visitors come from. Some of you know the Red Clay Reporter personally, others visitors came by searching key words, and the top-searched words or phrases that brought the masses here were: jaguar xke, bob barker, glee club of the damned and ginger baker. According to the handy-dandy world map of RCR enthusiasts, the farthest distance a visitor had to travel to is someone from Mandurah in Western Australia some 11,307 miles from the humble red clay homestead. Other regular visitors come from Trier in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, and Vasto in Abruzzi, Italy.

When I started this blog, I had no idea what it would end up looking like. Now that I’ve been at it for nearly two years, I still don’t exactly how to describe it. But if I can keep 15 747s full of people at least interested enough to come back and check it out, I must be doing something right.
Here’s wishing all of you a happy and prosperous 2011…
